Today talking with one of Filter’s owners I realized the questions I was asking may have been a bit too probing for a regular customer. That’s when I realized, that’s exactly what I was still, a regular customer. I hadn’t re-introduced myself as a designer researching their space and thusly interested in all aspects of it, including his decisions to create it.
It was just such a smooth transition from customer to designer, with the places conviviality remaining unchanged it always seemed awkward. However I now realize that I must introduce myself as what I am and give full disclosure, for better or worse.
